Important dates:

  • Registration officially begins on September 1, 2011 through www.eventsonline.ca, please click on our Registration tab on this site in the top navigation bar to register.
  • Last day to register to receive a t-shirt is September 22nd.
  • Last day to register for the event is September 30th at midnight. No exceptions will be made.

Logistics:

  • Be aware the Ottawa River Parkway will be closed at 11:30 and all eastbound traffic will be directed to Scott St.  Therefore, traffic may be backed up.  Plan your travel time accordingly.
  • Bib numbers must also be worn and be visible.  They should be worn on the front.  The timing chip is integrated in the bib.
  • Please run/walk on the right side of the roadway.  There will be oncoming runners soon after each turnaround, so everyone needs to stick to their side of the road to avoid collisions.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Due to the fact that we will be closing the Ottawa River Western Parkway for the Wellness Challenge and only have permission to close the road for so long, we ask, if you expect to take more than 37 minutes to complete the 5K run, that you enter the 2.5K walk.
  • Have fun and smile for the Photographers along the course and we also provide team pictures free of charge.

Transportation/Parking

  • Participants are encouraged to bus, bike or carpool to the Wellness Challenge at Tunney’s Pasture.  Please plan to arrive at the start area by 11:15am.
  • If you drive, there are 3 options for parking (see map below):
    • 1- NCC parking lot on the Ottawa River Parkway (red star on the map) – this free public parking lot has room for 70 cars.
    • 2- paid parking at Colombine/Sir Fredrick Banting (black star) – $10 per day
    • 3- paid parking at Holland Cross (black star) – pay by the hour
  • You can also take your chances with on-street parking around Tunney’s Pasture, but it is a 1-hour limit and the event runs for longer than 1 hour.

October 6th, 2011. Save the date.
